Chaise Lounge, Gold Gilt, Bl Da

 Louis XVI style, known as Transitional 1760-1775 chaise lounge or duchess.  The original design was attributed to Jacques-Jean-Baptiste Tilliard, and the piece was housed in the Chateau de Versailles.

The Louis XV outline is broken by numerous projections bearing  garlands of flowers, ribbons and other classical motifs.  This chaise is hand-painted in gilt, and upholstered in bluish grey damask silk.  Piece is signed and dated 2009 by Artisan.
