Chaise Lounge, Gold Gilt, Flora

Pre Louis XVI, known as Transitional 1760-1775, gilt chaise longue or duchesse. The original design was attributed to Jacques-Jean-Baptiste Tilliard, and the piece was house in the Chateau de Versailles.
The Louis XV outline is broken by numerous projections bearing garlands of flowers, ribbons and other classical motifs. This chaise is hand-painted in vellum with gilt detail, and upholstered in a white with grey, reds/orange, pinks, purples, and blue colors floral fabric. Piece is signed and dated 2009 by Artisan.
